NPCs

Here you can find the lore information for the key NPCs in Ervaine, local lords and ladies, or nefarious criminals.

Lord Neef

Lord Neef started as a bandit leader raiding around the areas outside of the Karsos Basin. He eventually settles near the entrance to Shiverspine Pass to raid the passing caravans. When trade began to dry up Neef was approached by Countess Ainnir and offered lordship, provided he could build his own estate. A year later and Fort Sosa was completed, and the size of Neef’s bandit retinue doubled. Lord Need now gets his wealth through excessive taxation and extortion of traders travelling to Karsos. His men relieve their restlessness by eliminating the few and foolish traders who refuse to pay the demanded fees. These unfortunate traders are found dead, and their possessions are sold onto Ainnir, or peddled in Fort Sosa.

Countess Ainnir

Little is known about the origins of Countess Ainnir. Her first appearance was as a young assassin for hire, with a specialty in poisons. She was one of the agents that spread chaos across the city, murdering Knights, Nobles and the wealthy. Though it was when the city was at its breaking point that she made her most brilliant move. In a single night she eliminated all of the criminal leaders, most of the nobility and crippled the city’s army. It was then that she assumed leadership of the Greenscale Gang and launched her takeover of the whole city. Upon seizing control what was left of the nobility were executed, and she pronounced herself Countess of Karsos. Since then she has been surrounded by rumours: that she is a vampire, rhar she can be in two places at once, and that she hears every whisper in Karsos.
